The Best Chicken

Ok, for reals how many times have you thought, what should I cook for dinner? You have a package of chicken, but you have no idea what to do with it. Chicken can be so boring.. don’t you agree? We have all been there. I have been experimenting with how to make the best chicken since 2014. Me and my husband (back then he was my boyfriend) were doing most basic BRO meal plan ever! You know…. chicken, broccoli, rice. FOR EVER MEAL. We got sick of chicken real fast, I mean how can you not when you eat it for 4/5 meals that you eat. After a lot of trail and error, I have found the marinade that makes THE BEST CHICKEN!
Its always about the basics, don’t over think it.

1- Fresh Herbs— for reals, how many times do you skimp and think that they don’t matter. THEY DO! Basil, Parsley, Cilantro, Thyme, Oregano. They all work, and they make you feel like your back in your favorite restaurant.

2- Garlic— Yup! Garlic takes your chicken to a whole new level of flavor! My mother in law taught me this one. She is a Brazilian lady, that really knows how to cook! I need her to write a blog post on her one day. ALWAYS ADD GARLIC!

3- Milk— Something about the enzymes in the milk that tenderize the chicken

4- Salt— enhances the flavor of everything!

I then add some spices- pepper, dried oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and 2 tbsp of dejon mustard. Mix it until the chicken is evenly coated with all the ingredients. Let sit for at least 20 mins, obviously the longer it marinades the better.

*Note I like to trim the fat off the chicken, cut vertically so the chicken breast isn’t so thick. You can fry the chicken in a skillet, crockpot it, or grill it (which is what I did).

I like to use the chicken in salads, tacos, quesadillas, alfredo chicken with pasta! Its amazing either way.
