Your traditional banana bread, but with a twist


Secret Ingredient Banana Bread

There are thousands of banana bread recipes out there, so I wanted to make this one a little more special. Which is why I added a secret ingredient to it…. Graham Cracker crumbs! I love the texture and sweetness this adds to this banana bread. I also love this recipe because you can throw everything into the stand mixer, which means less dishes! 🙂 I am all about that simple life, you will hear that probably 100 more times. I love the simple pleasures of life. I love cooking and baking for my little family, this is definitely a simple pleasure that I feel unites us together. For example, you will look back on your life and remember how MY MOM MADE THE BEST BANANA BREAD and the memory lives on.

So to make this banana bread, I did use a KAMUT flour. Have you heard of it? With that said, this flour requires LESS flour then regular all purpose flour. So if you are using regular AP flour, add an additional 1/2 cup.

TO Make:

3 Bananas

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter ( I used light)

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup of Kamut flour (1 1/2 cup if using all purpose)

1 cup of Graham cracker crumbs

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

pinch of salt

1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a stand mixer add bananas, butter, eggs, and vanilla together until well blended. Add flour, graham crackers, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well combined. Add to a bread pan (8 x 4 x 2 1/2 in.) this is your typical size. Bake for 40-50 mins.

Slice a piece and slab some butter on it while its hot! OOOH its SO GOOD! Add a scoop of haagen dazs dolce de leche ice cream if you want to take it to the next level!
