Dolce de Leche Banana Bread

Happy Friday! Wow what a weird week it has been…. anyone else feel that way? Speaking of banana bread, I can’t help but think about how we were all baking banana bread this time last year when we were all quarantining 🙂 I can’t believe its already been a year, wow! As I look back on having an off week. I can’t help but take a step back and think about this past year. It flew by, and just like that a week turned into a year. Anyways this banana bread is sweet, it really satisfies that sweet tooth. Which if you are new around here is what I am all about :). For months I have been wanting to make a banana bread with a fun twist. This popped into my head and I had to create a recipe. My husband was the one who introduced me to dolce de leche. Can you believe I’ve never tried dolce de leche until I was 19 years old… LIKE WHAT! My life has never been the same, his grandma in Brazil would make homemade dolce de leche and send it off with my husbands parents when they would visit. So for me dolce de leche is something really special. You don’t need too many ingredients, however you do need ripe brown bananas. This is what make the banana bread really flavorful and moist. You only need one bowl, and 35 minutes while it bakes. I promise this recipe is worth it. So lets get to it.

THE RECIPE

Dolce de Leche Banana Bread

3 brown bananas 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 2 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp cinnamon- a must with banana pinch of salt 1/3 cup dolce de leche How to Make Dolce de Leche Banana Bread: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a stand mixer add the bananas, butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix for 1 minute. Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until combined. Spray 2 bread pan (9.5×5) with non stick spray. Add the batter evenly between the two pans. Next using a tablespoon top the batter with the dolce de leche (see picture below). I did 3 tablespoons per loaf. Using a knife carefully to swirl the dolce de leche. Bake for 35 minutes. Let cool for 5-10 minutes, then enjoy!
