Here’s my 3 easy tricks to make mashed potatoes STRESS FREE on Thanksgiving. 1. Use Yukon Gold Potatoes Not only are they the best potatoes but the skin is soft (& delicious). No need to peel the skin saving you 10-20 minutes. 2. Get a immersion blender. They are about $25 (I found mine at walmart for $10 a few years ago and it still works great)! Worth every penny! Throw your milk, butter, yogurt , salt, pepper, and onion powder in the pot and blend! Then transfer to your serving bowl. 3. Add the potatoes to the pot of water before you bring it to boil. This will help your potatoes cook more evenly. Otherwise the outside will cook faster then the inside BONUS- it may seem obvious but chop the potatoes! I like to cut them in half, then cut each half into 4 equal parts. This will ensure the potatoes cook evenly, and it will reduce cooking time!

Ingredients to Make Mashed Potatoes: 4 large yukon gold potatoes 12 cups water 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup Fage plain Greek yogurt 3 tbsp butter 3/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp oregano How to Make Easy Mashed Potatoes: Cut the potatoes in half, then cut each half into 4 equal parts. Add to a large pot with the 12 cups of water. Boil for 15-20 minutes. Drain the water, but keep the potatoes inside the pot. Add remaining ingredients to the pot. Blend using a immersion blender. Done! Easy as that!
